As was suggested by the sources, a team of three members from the Customs Department, has reached the residence of former Principal Secretary to the CM and IT Secretary of Kerala, M Sivasankar. They reached at the residence of the veteran bureaucrat in order to probe more into his involvement in the gold scandal, which has shaken the state. While the media personalities were awaiting for the coverage in the front doors, M Sivasankar made his presence felt at the backdoor.
While NIA is preparing its armory against the corrupted bureaucrat M Sivasankar, the prime accused in the case, Sarith has given a clean chit to the top bureaucrat, who has entered a long leave from the service. Sarith said that Sivasankar was not part of the operations of the racket; though Sarith maintained that the discussions on gold smuggling took place at the IAS official’s flat in Thiruvananthapuram. When quizzed, Sarith maintained that Sivasankar wasn’t part of these discussions and wasn’t aware of gold smuggling.
