On the wake of the finding out the bogus voting in Kasargode, the Chief Election Commissioner Tikaram Meena had asked the State Election Commission to cancel the panchayat membership of P Seleena. The fake voting marked by Pilathara CPM panchayat member P Seleena, has given way for a heated debate in the state. However, experts are of the opinion that cancellation of the panchayat membership of Seleena might not be an easy process.
Though criminal charges can be levied against Seleena on the charge of fake voting, that alone cannot be able to cancel her membership. Out of all possibilities, it a court verdict that could be indicted and hence the EC could go further with cancelling her membership.
