The Kannur-Yesvantpur Express derailed. Two bogies derailed. The derailment took place near Muttanpetty railway station in Tamil Nadu. No one was injured in the incident. The incident took place at around 3.30 am today. The train which left Kannur on Thursday evening and reached Bangalore at 7.30 am today derailed in Dharmapuri district.
The engine and the adjacent bogie derailed. According to railway officials, passengers traveling to Bangalore continued in other vehicles as no one was injured. Currently, the Bangalore DRM and the Salem DRM are conducting inspections on the spot.
