A major security breach on the KSEB website revealed by a group of hackers named K Hackers. The hackers claim that they have taken the information of three lakh users from different districts of Kerala. Of these, more than a thousand users’ information was released as a Google Drive file. The released file contains information including consumer number, payment amount, district, and name. KSEB The hackers revealed through their Facebook page ‘K Hackers’ that information was leaked from the KSEB website.
The hackers say that they can access the database of the KSEB website in three hours and that the leaked information is worth Rs 5 crore according to the market price. Since selling information is not K Hackers’ goal, only the information of three lakh people has been taken. Yet KSEB is not aware of this. If the software is not changed within three months, the information will be lost, they warned.
“Even though it was designed by Kunnamkulam, the goods and money were bought in dollars. We were given three months to ‘redesign’ because the money was ours,” he said in a Facebook post. The hackers also posted a link to a Windows application in a Facebook post saying it was free to use. The leaked information says in the Facebook post that the app will be able to find out if your name has information. K Hackers meanwhile has warned that they will hack the PSC website next before August 13.
