The country has witnessed the 18th consecutive day of diesel price hike, while the price of petrol remained unchanged. The Oil Marketing Companies have increased the price of diesel by 45 paisa. Thus, in eighteen days, the price of diesel has risen by a total of Rs. 9.92.
While several experts opined that the price of Petrol would touch the 90 mark in the coming days, a section of the industry however suggested that 80 might be the upper cap for petrol for some time. Ever since India started adopting the dynamic fuel price method from June 2017, the price of oil has come under the direct control of the Oil Marketing Companies. After a gap of more than 80 days, it was on June 7th, which the oil prices in the country have started gaining momentum.
