June 13: India’s Covid tally went past 3 Lakh mark

Marking yet another record daily count figure, the covid tally in the county has breached the 300K mark. With an addition of 11,458 more new covid patients in the past 24 hours, while the total number of affected people in the country now stands at 3,08,993.  The number of active patients in the country stands at 145,779, whereas the number of people who have managed to get cured is 1,54,330.

In the past 24 hours, 389 covid deaths were reported across the country, taking its total tally to 8,886. While it took 111 days for the pandemic to reach 1 Lakh in India, it took just 15 days to touch 2 Lakh mark. However, in order to reach from 2 Lakh to 3 Lakh, the country needed just 10 days. Meanwhile, Maharashtra became the first Indian state to clock 1 Lakh coronavirus cases. Delhi too is reeling under pressure with 2,000 more fresh cases were reported during the past 24 hours. With experts predicting a further increase in the Covid figures in the coming days, various state governments are tightening the norms.
