July 5 Kerala Covid Update: 225 more new cases

Today, Kerala has registered yet another 200 positive cases. The daily positive case count has registered 225 today. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 126. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 5,449, while the state’s total active cases have reached 2,228. A total of 3,174 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 117 are from overseas, while 57 came from other states. 38 got the disease through transmission – which is a record figure till date (Thiruvananthapuram – 22, Kozhikode – 5, Kasargode – 4, Ernakulam – 3, Malappuram – 2, Alappuzha – 1). Apart from this, 7 DSC officers and 2 CISF officers from Kannur, 2 BSF officers, 2 ship crews from Thrissur too have turned positive and caught the disease through transmission.

Right now, 1,80,939 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 2,944. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 7,461 samples. Till date, the state has tested a total of 2,68,218 samples. Results of 5,881 samples are yet to come. Today, a total of 377 people have been admitted to hospitals. Right now, Kerala has a total of 153 hotspots.
