July 14 Kerala Covid Update: In an alarming note, Kerala registered 608 new cases

In an alarming note, today, Kerala has registered 608 new Covid positive cases. Incidentally, this happened to be the biggest single day spike that Kerala has registered till date. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 183. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 8,930, while the state’s total active cases have reached 4,454. A total of 4,442 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 130 are from overseas, while 68 came from other states.

The number of case through transmission too has registered an enormous figure, 396, in the past 24 hours. Out of the cases through transmission, 26 remain untraced. 8 health workers, 2 CISF, 1 BSF, 2 ITBP, personals have been tested positive for the disease. The state has also recorded 1 more Covid death. 47 year old Nazeer Usman, a native of Chinakkara, Alappuzhahas succumbed to death.

Right now, 1,80,594 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 4,376. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 14,227 samples. With this, the total number of routine samples tested by the state, stands at 2,52,302. The results of 7,745 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 720 people have been admitted to hospitals. Kerala, right now, has a total of 227 hotspots.
