The idea in the BJP is to fill the field by announcing the candidates earlier. It is reported that some important decisions were taken in the meeting held at Palakkad. The National Council will meet in the third week of this month. Prior to that, six candidates may be announced in Kerala. Union Minister V Muraleedharan will contest in Atingal. Atingal is a constituency that the BJP is looking forward to. This is the constituency that performed well last time. Apart from Attingal, the BJP is also hoping for Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur and Palakkad constituencies. Actor Devan has informed the party leadership that he will not contest this time. Producer Suresh Kumar will also not be in the competition. No decision has been taken yet on who will be in Thiruvananthapuram. In Pathanamthitta the name of PC George, or his son Shaun George, is being considered. A section of the BJP is demanding a candidate from the Nair community. The central leadership is of the opinion that it should come from the Christian sect. Kummanam Rajasekharan and actor Unni Mukundan were also considered here.

The names of MT Ramesh, Shobha Surendran and PK Krishnadas are being discussed in Kozhikode and Vadakara constituencies. AP Abdullahkutty may be the candidate in Malappuram. C Raghunath, who recently left the Congress in Kannur, is likely. Anil Antony's name is being considered in Ernakulam constituency. Kottayam and Mavelikkara may be transferred to BDJS. From Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajeev Chandrasekaran to district leader VV Rajesh, names are being heard in Thiruvananthapuram.
