While most of the players in the market are busy experimenting with price cuts, here comes Japanese automaker Isuzu, which has dared to go for a hike in price for SUVs and Pickups. As per the reports, Isuzu will be hiking the price for its models in India up to INR 1 Lakh. While Isuzu D – Max is expected to come across a price hike in the range of INR 15,000, the company’s latest SUV, MU – X is expected to have a price hike of INR 1 Lakh.
Meanwhile, though none has come up with any official announcements, major Indian players such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra are also expected to go for a hike in their prices. Industry insiders suggest that increased expenses on the part of essential metals, was the reason, which is forcing Indian auto industry to go against their recent trends.
