Unveiling Optane SSD 900P series in Frankfurt, Intel company spokespersons informed that the Gen 3 x 4 PCIe version would meet the needs of workstations and high end gaming PCs. The device is available in two variants – one with a 280GB capacity, while the other has 480GB capacity. The devices are respectively priced at $389 and $699. Intel claims that the devices are capable of delivering better performances, with a speed clocking 2.5GB/s as well as a maximum sequential write speed of 2GB/s.
The drives are also top rated in terms of durability. The 480GB version is rated at 8,760 TBW – something which makes the durability of the device higher than that of the likes of 512GB Samsung 960 Pro SSD. It is not known when Intel would launch the devices in India.
