IG Lakshman, friend of Monson Mavunkal, arrested for antiquities fraud The move follows a crime branch report that IG had an affair with Monson. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan approved the report of the crime branch.
The crime branch found that Monson was assisted by IG Lakshman. Crime Branch ADGP S Sreejith had submitted a report to the Home Department recommending action against IG Lakshmana. Although many policemen, including former DGP Loknath Behra, are acquainted with Monson, the illicit deal has only been found against IG Lakshmana.
It was also reported on Wednesday that IG Lakshman had acted as an intermediary to sell Monson’s antiquities. IG Lakshmana also introduced Monson to the Andhra native, the three met at the police club, reported by Manorama News. A WhatsApp chat information also came out. They tried to sell the Bible, the idol of Ganesha, the Qur’an and gems.
