Both became the attractions of the film. In an interview with India Today, Aparna Balamurali said that Surarai Potru’s Bommi is the best character of her career.

” I really wanted to do a better character in Tamil.” She said.

Soorarai Pottru took two years. That’s why I haven’t signed on to more movies. I wanted the directors to see Surarai Potru and understand the characters I could do. Aparna Balamurali also said that she needed a character to prove herself.

If any of the scenes I did make any director happy it was because Surya Sir was there beside me to act. He is a good person and a supporter of the actors. That’s how I was able to do my best. It was very difficult to do in the Madurai language. Aparna Balamurali added that Surya’s behavior towards his teammates is inspiring.

Soorarai Pottru is a film based on the life of GR Gopinath, a writer, former captain of the Indian Army, and founder of Air Deccan. GR Gopinath, who saw the film, said that Aparna Balamurali’s performance as Bommi was excellent. Surarai Potru is a turning point in Surya’s career.
