Hyundai Aura unveiled; Launch, price, features.

New Hyundai Aura has more wheelbase and width than Hyundai Xcent, resulting in substantially improved cabin space.

Hyundai Motor India today unveiled the compact sedan in the country. Expected to be launched in early 2020, Hyundai Aura might be priced between Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) and challenge the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze, among others.

Hyundai Aura boasts of three BS6-compliant engine choices. There is a 1.0-litre Turbo GDi petrol motor making 100 PS and 172 Nm of torque and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The other petrol option is a 1.2-litre MPI mill churning out 83 PS and 114 Nm and offered with 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions. This engine is available in a CNG option as well with the power and torque figures at 72 PS and 102 Nm, respectively. There is also a 1.2-litre EcoTorq diesel engine delivering 75 PS and 190 Nm. It comes with 5-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The 1.2-litre EcoTorq diesel engine is the smallest diesel powertrain in the world to be BS6-compliant.

The Aura is 3,995 mm in length. Its width is 1,680 mm, while the height measures 1,520 mm. The wheelbase is 2,450 mm long.
