Kochi: On the first day after marriage, a woman has filed a complaint against her husband in the High Court, accusing him of giving her a note on how to have sex in order to have a boy.
A 39-year-old woman from Kollam filed a complaint against her husband, a native of Muvattupuzha.
Earlier, a complaint was filed against the husband and his parents to the Additional Director of Prenatal Diagnostic Division under Family Welfare Department.
The woman approached the High Court after no action was taken on this complaint. Justice Devan Ramachandran, who considered the petition, sought the government's explanation on the matter.
The marriage of the petitioner with a native of Muvatupuzha was on 12th April 2012. On the night of the wedding day, the husband and his parents gave a note to the young lady.
The woman says in the petition that the note was explaining how to have sex in order to have a boy.
In the petition, the woman says that the note in the English magazine was changed to Malayalam and the note was in the handwriting of her husband's father.
They have submitted the note given by the husband's family and the forensic report proving that it was prepared by the husband's father.
According to the petition, the husband and family insisted that the instructions in the note should be strictly followed as the girl would become a financial burden.
She lived in London with her husband. However, after becoming pregnant in 2014, the petitioner returned home.
It is said in the petition that after the woman gave birth to a girl in 2014, the harassment from her husband and housekeeper increased.
After this, they approached the family court in Kollam.
