HP unveiled 3D camera at CES 2018

HP has unveiled first of its kind monitor that mounted 2D/3D camera. Named the HP Z3D Camera, the ‘zero footprint’ camera is capable of capturing and digitizing 3D objects, 2D documents. HP claims that the Z3D Camera would even take videos as well. Weighing about 544 grams, the Z3D Camera has also got a scanning mat. Incorporating the 3D SLAM technology, the camera can be used to scan 14 megapixel 2D images as well as high resolution texture 3D scans.

The Z3D Camera is compatible with all the Z and E series monitors of HP, while it requires just two USB ports – for power and data transfer – for functioning. Priced around $600, it is not clear when the device would reach the markets.
