The AMMA Executive meeting has been called off at the midway. The decision was take since the meeting place – Chakkaraparambu Holiday Inn Hotel – was sealed by the authorities that the meeting ended abruptly. Authorities did close down the hotel, as Chakkaraparambu became a containment zone. Though ended up abruptly, the meeting did reach in on terms with the organization’s meeting agenda.
AMMA meeting finally agreed to the demand raised by the Producers’ Association regarding the remuneration cut of the actors. According to the decision, the actors, including superstars would have to cut their remuneration by 50 percent. However, AMMA did express its unhappiness over Producers’ Association making a public statement regarding this, without consulting AMMA.
On the other hand, AMMA didn’t agree with Producers’ Association’s decision on stopping the shooting of new films. AMMA was of the opinion that since the industry had been on a standstill for the past hundred days, the organization can’t afford to lose working opportunities for its members. However, a final decision is yet to be take in this regards, as the meeting got cancelled in the midway.
