The Government of India has approved of giving green number plates for electric vehicles. With this, the move of government in promoting electric vehicles in the country has got another turn. Already under proposition, the move would bring a three color system in the number plates. While the private vehicles would use white number plates, those of commercial vehicles would go after yellow colored number plates. Into this, which the electric vehicles would come with a green number plate.
The new colored number plate refers to the zero emissions vehicles – which can be used for both private and commercial purposes. The electric cars would also get special treatments, in terms of parking, entry to ‘congested zones’ and to name some.
