Government Accepted M Sivasankar’s leave application

Government has accepted the leave application submitted by the IT Secretary M Sivasankar. M Mohammed Y Safirulla has been appointed as the new IT Secretary of the state. It is reported that M Sivasankar has applied for a leave of one year, which has been accepted by the state government. Earlier the day, he was removed from the post of the Personal Secretary of the CM. While replacing M Sivasankar from the post of Private Secretary of Chief Minister, office of the CM has given the additional duty to Mir Mohammed IAS, who is currently serving as the director of the Department of Environment and Climate Change. Mir Mohammed IAS is a 2011 batch of the Indian Administrative Service.

The day has turned out to be quite an eventful one, as IT Secretary M Sivasankar’s name has popped up multiple times in the headlines. Earlier the day, it was suggested that he would be removed from the post of CM’s Private Secretary, which proved to be right, as he was ousted from the post by the CM. However, he continued to remain as the IT Secretary, which invited criticisms for the office of the CM, from political opponents. Soon then, it was revealed that M Sivasankar had entered long leave from the position. As the investigation on the case of gold smuggling through diplomatic baggage is proceeding, it is expected that the team would soon arrest Swapna Suresh, which could lead to some top officials in the government.
