Google is getting ready to tighten the security features and the Google I/O 2018 saw a number of notable announcements. With Google taking a strong stand in the security issues of Android users, it has revised the OEM contract. As part of revising the OEM contracts, Google has asked its partners to roll out the security updates every month. Also, the tech giant stressed the need for timely OS updates as well.

Google is also planning to increase the number of devices, with all of them getting regular security patches. Earlier last year, HMD Global has come up with a promising decision, that of making the security update ready, the moment Google rolls them out.
