Rome: Serie A club Juventus' French midfielder Paul Pogba has been banned for four years. The action against the actor was taken after it was confirmed that he had used doping drugs.
The ban under the World Anti-Doping Code was approved by Italy's National Anti-Doping Tribunal. Pogba was found to be positive in a doping test conducted on August 20, 2023. Then came the verdict. Testosterone, a banned substance, was found in Pogba's body.
Pogba was provisionally suspended by Italy's National Anti-Doping Tribunal (NADO Italia) in September. Pogba's suspension, meanwhile, will not only cast a shadow over his career but also set Juventus back in the league.
The player's ban will last till August 2027. The player will be 34 years old by the time the ban expires. Pogba, who is now 30, will not be able to make a comeback after four years. Meanwhile, it is reported that Paul Pogba will appeal against the action.
When France lifted the FIFA World Cup in 2018, Pogba was one of the key players in the team. He was unable to play in the 2022 World Cup due to injury.
