Another person committed suicide due to discomfort over the lack of alcohol in Kollam. Biju Viswanathan (50), hailing from Chavara, was found hanging in his house at Dhanus in Kerikkada. He is a former contract employee at ISRO. As a result, the number of suicides in the district has reached 2 on Saturday alone. This is the fifth reported suicide in the state.
Suresh, 38, a resident of Kundara, committed suicide in Kollam district after he did not receive alcohol. Suresh was found hanging inside his house. KC native of Ancharakandi from Kannur Vigilal, 28, also committed suicide on Saturday. Vigil was found hanging near Thanathan’s stall and hanging near the stadium.
He had been depressed since morning due to lack of alcohol. Murali (44) hailing from Karimul Peringala Chaikkara and Sanoj (37) from Kucheri Thoovannoor Kulangara hanged himself after they had not received alcohol.
