Delhi: Congress rejected the invitation to the Ayodhya dedication ceremony on 22nd of this month. It has been decided by the Congress that the Congress leaders who have been invited to the function will not attend. The Congress has informed that it respectfully declines the invitation.
The Ayodhya dedication ceremony is a program of BJP and RSS. Religion is a personal matter.
Congress also says that RSS and BJP have made Ayodhya a political project. The inauguration before the completion of the construction is for election gain. The Congress added that the decision was taken respecting the Supreme Court verdict in Ayodhya and respecting the sentiments of Ram devotees.
Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary have received the invitation.
There were rumors that they would participate in the first phase, but due to the pressure from the ‘India’ alliance, they got into a crisis. After this, the Congress has given a clear opinion that the leaders will not participate.
