In an attempt to compete with that of YouTube and similar platforms, Facebook is promoting videos inside the ‘News Feed’. Since Facebook News Feed is something, which people see the first time, when they open up the app, the promotion of more video contents, is going to make the platform more video friendly. In other words, Facebook would be pushing more videos, which it thinks suits user’s tastes.
The inclusion of videos in News Feed also helps users watching the subsequent series of a particular video, which they had watched earlier. Well, it must be added right here in that Facebook had released a video service earlier in August – Watch.
