In an attempt to cope up with the increasing security threats, Facebook has gone onto strengthen its authentication procedure. The improved feature has made it possible that users would no longer be required to have a phone number for logging in. Rolled out the feature recently via OTA, Facebook now allows users to modify the authentication app option. That said, users can now make use of the QR code, which will be generated by the social media giant.

Scanning the code by pointing the phone at the authentication apps, will do the job. The process will create a six digit code on user’s device, and thus avoid the method of receiving text messages to the smartphone, every time one tries to log into the account.
