Facebook introduced ‘Lock Your Profile’ security feature in India

Facebook has introduced a new security feature called ‘Lock Your Profile’ that allows users to manage access to photos, timelines and posts from non-friends in a single click. Facebook has now come up with a special security feature to protect profile pictures from being made public. This feature was first introduced in India. You can now make changes to Privacy Settings to protect your pictures and posts so that they are not visible to anyone who is not in your friend list. This feature restricts non-friends from downloading, sharing, zooming, or cover photos of locked profiles.

Facebook’s product manager, Roxanna Irani, said Facebook’s concerns about photo security have long been a concern for Facebook, and its key value proposition is a new feature that prevents photos and posts from being viewed by non-friends. This lock feature will restrict people who are not on the friends list from viewing posts in the profile’s timeline. Facebook India Public Policy Director Anki Das says this feature helps protect the privacy of young female users. Concerns about people in India, especially women, about protecting their online profile will be addressed.

How to Enable Lock Your Profile in Facebook:

1. Click on your name to see the profile

2. Click Lock Profile

3. Lock and click again on your profile to “confirm”

Once this new lock feature is added, an indicator is added to the user’s profile, indicating that the profile is locked. If this feature is enabled, users should note that users cannot write or share posts publicly. Their posts and shares are limited to their friends list. If users want to unlock their profile, do so.

How to Disable Lock Your Profile in Facebook:

1. Go to the Profile Locked option

2. Click on Unlock

3. Unlock your profile, click and then click the Yes option.
