Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is in the midst of a wave of protests across the US following the police execution of George Floyd . George Floyd in the street. The majority of employees feel that Trump’s posts contain content that is contrary to company policy. Zuckerberg answered staff questions during the video conference.
Employees pointed out that the post could still be seen on Facebook, where the robbers were firing during the agitation. Neither himself nor others who decide the company’s policy can justify that the president’s message does not promote aggression. But Zuckerberg said that it would not violate Facebook’s rules.
Many expressed frustration and discomfort with the company’s position. As part of the protests, some took to the meeting to conduct a virtual walkout. The meeting lasted 90 minutes. Trump said last week that if the states failed to suppress the protests that swept across the US following George’s assassination, the military would be deployed. The burning anger in the country is very violent in many places. Addressing the nation from the Rose Garden in the White House, Trump announced that he would send thousands of security personnel, including military, to control the riots, robberies and destruction.
The curfew was imposed in 150 cities, including Washington and New York, but in many areas, people protested. Emergency has been declared in 6 states and 13 major cities. Three hundred thousand National Guard guards were deployed across the country. This is the first time the deployment of such guards. Five people have been killed so far in violent protests. 4000 people were arrested.
The funeral of George Floyd, who was assassinated by police, will take place in the hometown of Houston at 9 p.m. Thousands are expected to attend. The Houston police chief has said he will provide security during the mourning trip. Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather will pay for the funeral. Service prayers will also be held in Minneapolis, where George was killed.
