Hackers have leaked information including email addresses of 20 crore Twitter users. There are also reports that users’ e-mail IDs have been sold on an online hacking platform.
Twitter has not yet made an official response to the incident. This important disclosure has been made through the LinkedIn account of Alan Gall, a security researcher.
Gal points out that apart from the e-mail ID, the phone numbers of the top brass have also been leaked. Alan Gal is also the co-founder of Hudson Rock, an Israeli cyber security-monitoring firm.
Twitter has been criticized for not responding despite the important disclosure. Twitter chief Elon Musk has also remained silent on the incident.
