KGF is a film that has changed the face of Kannada cinema. KGF was directed by Prashant Neil. Yash played the lead role in the film. It was the first pan Indian hit from Kannada cinema. In general, the maximum collection of Kannada films is said to be less than 50 crores. But the budget of this film alone was over 50 crores. Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon were first called up for the film. However, she declined the invitation saying that she did not want to act in a Kannada film. But after seeing the first lesson of the film, their opinion changed. They closed their eyes and gave a date for the second part. The director was sure that they would give a date for the second part if they saw the first part. And so it happened.
The shooting of the film is almost over. All that remains is post-production work. It was originally planned to release last July. But the release was postponed due to the Kovit situation. No official reports have been received as to when the film will be released. Though there were rumors that the film would be released online, the producers themselves rejected it.
Now the satellite rights to the film have been sold. Sea Channel acquired the television broadcasting rights for the film. They have the protection of four languages. KGF2 will be aired on Sea Kerala Channel. They also have channels in other languages in South India. Other versions of the film will be telecast on these channels.
Prashant Neil will next be directing Salar. Prabhas plays the central character in the film. Shruti Hassan will play the lead role in the film. The film is being made as a Telugu film. However, the film will be translated into all major Indian languages.
