A case has been filed against the makers of ‘Varathan’, citing defamation charges. The case filed by Pappali family from Eranakulam, accused the movie for wrongly depicting the family in the movie. According to the case filed, one of the script writers of the movie, Suhas, personally knows the family; he was instrumental in negatively representing the family name in the movie. The family members also cite that makers haven’t placed the note stating that the incidents shown in the movie were fictional.
Directed by Amal Neerad, ‘Varathan’ portrayed the story, wherein the family name of the villain characters, was Pappali. The registered case wanted to take strong actions against the makers; also advocate for taking immediate actions including prohibiting the exhibition of the movie. Meanwhile, Suhas, the script writer of the movie has denied all such accusations raised against him and the movie.
