Seeking clarifications on the poetry plagiarism row of lecturer Deepa Nishanth, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notice to the College Principal of Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. The notice has demanded the college to give adequate explanation and stance on the matter. The notice has also inquired whether any action has been taken against the faculty member.
It was after receiving a complaint, which questioned the integrity of Deepa Nishanth that UGC has issued the notice. Earlier, the controversy of Deepa Nishanth copying a poem written by S. Kalesh, has resulted in the lecturer confessing her mistake.
