Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the state today and tomorrow. Orange alert has been announced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts tomorrow in case of heavy rain.
A yellow alert has also been announced in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts tomorrow. The Meteorological Center has announced that there is a possibility of heavy rain for two days.

A yellow alert has been announced in Ernakulam the next day (18.12.2023). The monsoon activation is due to a cyclonic circulation in the south-west Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lankan coast.
At the same time, the Central Meteorological Department has informed that strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala from December 16 to 18, 2023.
