Reports have reached the media suggesting that the Customs department has made a visit to the flat of former IT Secretary M. Sivasankar’s, who has already entered a long leave from the service. It is suggested that the team has received some vital clues, which could lead to case of gold smuggling through the diplomatic baggage. Accordingly, the customs department, which conducted a detailed search in the S6 flat of the Heather builders, which is situated near the Secretariat building.
They have also gathered evidence from the neighbors, who suggested that the primary accused in the case as well as several higher officials had visited the flat in the recent past. The CCTV footages too suggest the same. However, the investigating team hasn’t divulged much detail regarding the evidences that they have collected. However, it is now widely believed that an extensive mafia network is associated with this gold smuggling scam.
