Local Self-Government Excise Minister M.B. has said that media reports that the local self-government department has increased the entertainment tax of ODIs are untrue. Rajesh informed.
The Local Self-Government Department reduced the entertainment tax from 24% to 50% to 12%. The tax rate was fixed after discussion with the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and the organizers Kerala Cricket Association, as per the agreement of both parties.
Entertainment tax was reduced from 24 per cent to five per cent for the last international cricket match held in Kariyavatta. A large concession was granted on that day as there was no competition in the stadium for a long time and it was difficult for the organizers to prepare the stadium for the competition.
As the situation has changed, the same level of relaxation is still not required. However, entertainment tax exemption of 12 percent has been given for the current competition as well.
