Covid Test for incoming NRIs: High Court asks for clarification

The controversy of the government’s requirement of NRIs being tested for Covid upon arrival in Kerala is yet to be solved, as Kerala High Court asked for further clarification from the state government. While hearing the case, High Court asked the state government to submit the details of discussions taken place between the state government and the central government. It is on the wake of the controversy clouded on the issue of the government asking for NoC from those who arrive through charted flights. For charted flights to get NoC, all the passengers are required to possess ‘Covid Negative’ certificate.

While commenting on the issue, the central government maintained that the requirement of issuing NoC was demanded by the state government. As the central government’s guidelines featured the requirement, court asked for clarification from the state government, whether it possess the power to issue NoC or does it goes to the central government.
