Covid 19 Hotspots in Kerala : Complete lockdown from April 14?: New Delhi: With the increasing number of coronavirus (covid-19) casualties in the country, the government has stepped up its initiative. States have also been asked to shut down districts where there is a high proportion of CVD victims in the country. The decision to close 62 districts with more than 82 per cent of the patients in the country is planned. This includes the 7 districts in Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts will have to be regulated in Kerala. Covid 19 cases have been reported in 274 districts so far. Since March 22, the number of patients has tripled. This is what prompted the government to come up with a control scheme.

The Center also wanted to increase the production of Covid therapeutic products. 2.7 crore N95 masks will be required over the next 2 months. The manufacturers were instructed to prepare 16 lakh inspection kits and prepare 50,000 ventilators. The Union Cabinet will meet today to assess the situation in the country.
