This is the third fire in the area since Abraham was mauled to death by a bison in Palaty. Last night's fire also gutted acacia trees.

Today the undergrowth was burnt. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. The fire broke out in the afternoon in a bamboo tree planted in the Irrigation Department's land in Panchavadi.

The fire brigade reached and extinguished the fire before it spread. Three vehicles of the fire brigade are camped in Kakayat.

Meanwhile, the CCF has ordered that the wild buffalo that killed the man in Kakkayat can be shot. The order says that if they cannot be caught by drugging, they can be shot dead.

The order also says that maximum efforts should be made to catch the bison by drug shooting. The order also specifies that action should be taken after ensuring that it was a wild buffalo that stabbed the farmer.

A farmer who was seriously injured in an attack by a wild buffalo in Kozhikode died yesterday evening. Palatil Abraham, a native of Kakkayam and a farmer, was attacked by a wild buffalo in his farm.

Abraham, who was seriously injured in the attack, died while undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Forest Minister AK Saseendran has announced that Rs 10 lakh will be handed over to Abraham's family members.
