Chance of heavy rain in the state in the next few days; Yellow alert has also been announced in various districts

The Central Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the state for the next five days. Yellow alert has also been announced in various districts.

Yellow alert was announced in various districts on the 4th and 5th. The Central Meteorological Department has announced yellow alert in Ernakulam district on the 4th and Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod districts on the 5th.

Chance of isolated heavy rain is forecast. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is no restriction on fishing in the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka and one should not go fishing in the Lakshadweep area. Strong winds with speed of 40 to 55 km per hour and bad weather are likely over Lakshadweep area from today till 5th.
