In an attempt to revamp the educational sector, Central Government has taken some important steps during the recently concluded budget. As per the budget speech delivered by FM Arun Jaitley, central govt. is planning to set up integrated B.Ed courses. The integrated B.Ed is aimed at integrating graduation and teaching education and completing the course in 4 years. However, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is yet to make an official note regarding the same.
The other important decision taken during the budget session, was that of ‘Ekalavya Model Residential’ Schools in blocks, the population of which comprises more than 50% of Special Tribal people. Details of the mission, which is expected to be achieved by 2020, are yet to come.
