HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokriyal has come up with a public statement on the issue of cutting down the syllabus of CBSE classes 9 to 12 for the academic year 2020 – 21. The Minister stated that the news of the exclusion of topics has invited unwanted controversy. Terming that the exclusion of the topics from the CBSE syllabus was advised on the wake of the pandemic, the minister added that all the schools have been advised to follow the NCERT alternate academic calendar.

He also ensured that the ouster of topics doesn’t mean that those topics are not taught to the students. As was informed by the minister, all those excluded topics would be covered under the alternate academic calendar. The exclusion of these topics is only part of a one-time measure for the conductance of examination. He also requested everyone to not mix politics with education.
