Case against Surendran in Sundara’s revelation on withdraw candidature

Based on Sundara’s revelation , who got money to withdraw from assembly election, a case has been registered against K Surendran the BJP State President. According to Sundara, the BSP candidate in Manjeswaram constituency, Surendran had paid him to withdraw his nomination papers. The case has been registered under sections 171-E and 171-B. Following Sundara’s revelation, the LDF in Manjeswaram constituency Candidate V.V. Ramesan had lodged a complaint with the Kasargod police. A case has also been registered against the activist of Local BJP in Manjeshwar s. A preliminary investigation into the incident has already begun.

V.V. Ramesan said that giving money to a candidate to withdraw from the contest shows political devaluation. Ramesan responded to Mathrubhumi.com. V.V. Ramesan said he would strongly oppose Surendran’s move to confront democracy with monetary domination and move forward with further steps. Ramesan said.

The case is being probed by a team led by Badiyadukka police and Kasargod DySP. The BJP has demanded Rs 2.5 lakh for the withdrawal of the petition. Sundara’s revelation was that it was given by the leaders. Sundara had said that Surendran had intervened in the matter and made the demand over the phone. Sundara also said that the matter of transactions has been decided. This was followed by the local BJP. Sundara had said that the leaders went home and handed over the money.

In 2016, Surendran lost the Manjeswaram constituency by 89 votes. Sundara, who was contesting as an independent candidate at that time, had got 467 votes. In 2021, Surendran had contested in Manjeshwar and Konni. BSP in Manjeshwar Sundara filed his nomination papers but later withdrew. Sundara’s controversial revelation was that she had received money to withdraw the petition in this manner.
