The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) MD position was given to Biju Prabhakar IAS. The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting, which held today. It was into the vacancy of the retired IG Dinesh, who was serving as the MD of KSRTC, that Biju Prabhakar was given the charge. Currently, he is the secretary of social welfare department. Meanwhile, transport secretary KR Jyothilal was given the charge of the chairman’s post in KSRTC.
Apart from those decisions, the ministerial level meeting also gave nod to the realignment of the Thiruvananthapuram – Kasargode High Speed Rail Corridor. Earlier, it was with Puthucherry raising dispute over the previously planned alignment that ran through Mahe, which the state government decided to conduct realignment. As far as the situation of Covid is concerned with, the state government made it clear that no further exemption would be given hereafter. Considering the rising number of Covid cases, the state also decided to tighten Covid checking.
