Thrissur: The elephant that attacked Vatsa, who was attacked by a wild elephant in the banana grove, was said to be yellow-horned.
Husband Rajan. Husband Rajan also said that Vatsa was beaten with an elephant trunk.
Rajan, who is also a Wachumaram colony elder, was an eyewitness to the attack on his wife by an elephant. Both of them went to the forest to collect resources. In the meantime, there was an unexpected attack by a wild cat.
Rajan's words-
'We went to the forest to pick fruit. After collecting the fruit, I told him to take a stick to beat it. That's when the elephant and lion came calling.
Hit me first. By the time I called out, 'Is the elephant coming', it was in one fell swoop with its trunk. There was only one. It is a yellow horn. Wherever you go, it bothers you.' – Rajan told the media.
Rajan and his wife Vatsa went to the forest at nine in the morning to collect forest resources. The wild cat attack happened around 3:30 pm.
The elephant kicked Vatsa's chest. The elder shouted but the elephant left after a while. After that he came near the colony and took people with him and came near Vatsa. By then Vatsa was dead.
