Kannur: The CPM welcomed the DYFI workers who had beaten up the Youth Congress workers who showed black flags at the Chief Minister’s convoy in Kalyashery.
The CPM Matai Area Committee organized a reception for the DYFI workers in Kannur Pashyangadi.
P. Jitin, K. Ramees, G. K. Anuvind and Amal Babu, who completed the remand period and went to jail, were welcomed.
After attending the Navakerala Sadas in Kalyaseri constituency, the Youth Congress workers showed the Chief Minister a black flag on their way to Taliparam.
DYFI workers were beating them. The Chief Minister’s response was that DYFI activists were ‘rescuing’ youth congressmen from being hit by a vehicle.
Meanwhile, many Youth Congress workers were seriously injured. In the incident, four DYFI activists were taken into custody by the police and a case was registered. They were released on bail on Friday after a 21-day remand period.
