The Director of Collegiate Education, Kerala has issued a notification regarding the Central Sector Scholarship for the academic year 2017. Under the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS) is meant for providing financial assistance to meritorious students, who pursue higher education.
Applicants should have passed at least Class XII examination and be amongst the top 20% list of the examination results conducted by the concerning board of examination. The family income of applicants should also be less than INR 6 lakh per annum. While the scholarship amount for the first three years of study is INR 10K, those who pursue post graduation, would receive an amount of INR 20K per annum.
There are a total of 2324 scholarships available for Kerala for the academic year 2017 – 18. The scholarships will be distributed in the ration of 1:1 for boys and girls, while the scholarships are subject to reservation according to the guidelines. Applications have to be submitted through online mode at the website, www.scholarships.gov.in. The last date to apply for the scholarship is 31st October, 2017.
