Air India Express AXB1344 flight from Dubai to Calicut crash-landed at Karipur airport between 7.30 pm and 7.45 pm today. As per the early reports, 3 people including the pilot died and several others injured in the accident. Air India Express flight from Dubai to Karipur skidded off the runway and fell 35 feet due to rain. The accident happened during the landing. The plane split into two pieces in the crash. The plane crashed on the Kondotty-Kunnumpuram road on the cross belt road via Melangadi.

The plane was carrying 190 people, including 177 passengers. Available information is that the plane fell down from the tabletop runway. Ambulances and fire trucks are arriving from different parts of the district. The plane skidded at the same speed as it landed. As a result, the scale of the accident intensified.
