A study conducted by the University of Buffalo in New York, suggested that most active Twitter users retweet false news reports. The study also suggested that falsehood news reports of emergency and disasters are the ones, which got spread in the micro blogging site, by its active users without verifying the authenticity of the source.
The study suggested that, as many as 90 percent of active users used to retweet such news materials without verifying them. It was also found that less than 20 percent of users admitted that they had retweeted false news.
