Director Aashiq Abu hasn’t restrained from making political statements and hasn’t shielded his political inclinations. Well, now the director has come up with one such a statement, regarding the verdict of High Court in disqualifying MLA KM Shaji, for producing communal statements during Azhikode Assembly elections, held in 2016. While commenting on the HC verdict, Aashiq Abu maintained that, the lawmaker’s decision would nullify all such communal forces functioning.
Making his statements clear with a facebook post, Aashiq Abu went onto hail democracy and wanted the HC verdict to give a warning signal for anyone, who wanted to capitalize on communal issues. Earlier, the runner up of Azhikode elections, MV Nikesh Kumar had filed a petition at HC, citing the same, and asking the cancellation of the candidature of KM Shaji.
