The Delhi Police arrested digital marketing professional Emani Naveen. It is reported that the Delhi Police reached out to Naveen after checking more than 500 social media accounts related to Rashmika’s deepfake video.
24-year-old Naveen hails from Petantipad in Guntur. He started a fan page on Instagram in the name of Rashmika Mandana. But he admitted to the police that he made the deep fake video to get more people into it. But this video went viral. The video was circulated by morphing actress Rashmika Mandana’s face into a video of another woman wearing a black dress and getting into an elevator. Rashmika Mandana’s deep fake video was created by a London-based social media influencer.
Similar cases were reported again after Rashmika’s video made using deepfake technology went viral. It was discovered that fake videos and pictures of Bollywood actresses like Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, Kajol, Deepika Padukone and others were made.
