1.7 million user accounts of Imgur were hacked in 2014

Renowned photo sharing website/app, Imgur recently revealed that they met with a mass hack attack in 2014. The attack, which exposed the vulnerability of their security system, cost the company to loss over 1.7 million user information. Making it clear through his social media accounts, a top official of Imgur mentioned that the security system of the company went onto compromise to the cyber attack – resulting in over 1.7 million user account related information, such as email addresses and passwords being lost.

However, since Imgur never asks the user to divulge their real names and rest of the details, they had not met with any complaint from the user side, regarding any personal phishing activity.
